Safer Internet 2016-2018

logo2 meskis be fonoIn July 2012 association "Langas į ateitį" joined the project "Safer Internet", which is implemented in Lithuania since 2005 under the Safer Internet Programme of the European Commission.

During the period of July 2016 – December 2018, the project is being implemented by 4 partner organizations: Centre of Information Technologies in Education, Communications Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Lithuania, association "Langas į ateitį", NGO "Childline".

Towards Information Security of Lithuanian Citizens

Safer Internet 2012-2016

In July 2012 association "Langas į ateitį" joined the project "Safer Internet", which is implemented in Lithuania since 2005 under the Safer Internet Programme of the European Commission.

During the period of July 2012 – June 2016, the project was implemented by 4 organizations: Centre of Information Technologies in Education, Communications Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Lithuania, association "Langas į ateitį", NGO "Childline". Additionally telecommunications company TEO LT, AB joined the project as a partner.

The new period of the project was also approved and will continue till the end of 2018.

Online services for Lithuanian e-Citizen

Pursuing the mission to encourage the information society in Lithuania Langas į ateitį implemented the project "Online services for a Lithuanian e-Citizen". The project was funded by European Social Fund and implemented during June 2010 - March 2012.

16,259 adults participated in ICT trainings and learnt how to use computers, internet, public and business e-services.

Modern Ways of acquiring ICT Knowledge

In 2008 Langas į ateitį received a grant from Microsoft Unlimited Potential Programme to implement a project "Modern Ways of acquiring ICT Knowledge" and develop four online e-learning courses. With this project Langas į ateitį until 2010 is encouraging Lithuanian residents to study online about safer internet, communication possibilities on the internet, Excel and PowerPoint software.

Computer Literacy Basics for a Lithuanian E-Citizen

During March 2006 - August 2008 Langas į ateitį implemented a project "Computer Literacy Basics for a Lithuanian E-Citizen" in line with the Single Programming Document (SPD) 2004-2006, Measure 2.2., Area of Activity 4 "Development of Population Computer Literacy". The project was financed by EU Social Fund and association Langas į ateitį.

Basic ICT training

Encouraging development of information society in Lithuania association Langas į ateitį is providing computer literacy and internet usage trainings to adults. Besides the creation of public internet access it is crucial to provide knowledge how to use information technologies and in this way to increase the usage of computers and internet.

Establishment of public internet access points

Today Lithuania has a network of more than 800 Public internet access points (PIAPs) that were created cooperating with the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania and other partners, using private business, state and EU Structural Funds money.
